Info: This Vale Of Tears was a Belgian gothic rock band. While their first releases were initially released in cassette form and/or in limited quantities, they nevertheless had a number of tracks that became anthems in a select number of cult clubs, cementing the band’s position as an up and coming formation, and gaining a following outside of their native Belgium in countries such as Greece or Mexico.
Ever since the mid-nineties, This Vale Of Tears toured a number of locations throughout Belgium, and in the same time period, recording began on their first demo and promotion releases, for fans and for media alike. The first 2 were done under a strictly limited number of cassette tapes and are these days quite sought after, with tracks such as The Liar or Higher Spirits often ending up being cult hits.
‘Analecta’ brings together these 2 rare tapes as well as a promotional EPCD, remastered for 2023 through Len Lemeire’s Implant Plant, giving an overview of the early work of this band before they signed to labels such as Black Rain for their later work (Alongside names such as Calva Y nada, Leaether Strip, Nitzer Ebb, Apoptygma Berzerk, etc.)
