Info:

This band is the mirror of the dark side of our modern world. On the top of his voice a through and through charismatic frontman screams from pain and dispair, anger and vulnerable love!

“We are born in the underworld, never see the light inside. We are banished from paradise, born to fall, never rise.“ (Eyes Shut Tight, Banished From Paradise)

Eyes Shut Tight dares to advance into the dark corners of the soul. They tell about conflicts within the ego, gloomy nightmares and the abysses of the human heart. Things most people close their eyes to in fear. But as opposed to what the band's name suggests, Hamburg's alternative rockers look closely and face the innermost fears. Since 2007, the band, centered around frontman Dirk W. Trashedsoul, formed anew again and again. Finally, after 2 albums and several line-up changes, they found their current constellation in 2012. With fresh wind in their sails, the quartet began working on their third LP “Banished from Paradise“. Most of the lyrics were written during their German tour with Norway's ZEROMANCER.

Eyes Shut Tight were produced by none other than JP Genkel, who's also known for his work with, amongst others, Cradle of Filth, Therion, Love Like Blood and Lacrimosa.
In countless nights at the studio, he and mastermind Dirk W. Trashedsoul finely honed the sound that makes the band unique: a combination of impelling aggression and simultaneously distressing honest melancholy. In addition to their musical collaborations, the duo of Genkel-Trashedshoul collaborated visually on the booklet of Genkel's musical project “Black Moon Secret“, to which Trashedsoul contributed some of his images for the artwork.
