The artist:
Alarmen is the musical project of a german, 28 year old computer scientist. Since the first public appearance in 2001 he has released some recordings - solo as well as collaboration works (with Betriebsdruck and Spherical Disrupted). He played on several events together with such different acts as Proyecto Mirage, Rob Acid, Xabec, Suspicion Breeds Confidence, Schloss Tegal and others. Last big event was the Elektroanschlag 05 in Altenburg/Germany where he played as Alarmen together with Morgenstern, Asche, Norm, This Morn' Omina, Sonar and many others. Working as a radio DJ for a local radio station he organized three events for improvised electronic music in 2001, 2003 and 2005 that lasted 5 hours and were broadcast live via the radio station and also streamed to the internet. The current sound of Alarmen moves between (Drone-)Ambient, Noise, Clicks'n'Cuts and even some more rhythmic parts

The album:
The fulltime debut of alarmen might be described as the soundtrack to the information chaos of our society. Either by any kind of broadcasting, the mailbox or at the internet we're flooded by information we are not able to conceive. E-mail SPAM (which was eponymous to the tracks and the album itself) tries to bypass filter mechanisms and spam-blockers with sophisticated techniques. Maybe an analogy to the sounds and rhythms of Alarmen: Slowly but steady they get into the listeners head and don't find a way out.
